Product Overview
This Zaki Lhamo Thangka Pendant – “Past & Present” is a pure hand-painted Tibetan thangka, encased in a traditional copper gau box, depicting the powerful and legendary protector goddess Zaki Lhamo.
Revered as both a Dharma Protector and a Goddess of Wealth and Good Fortune, Zaki Lhamo embodies the profound Buddhist themes of karma, rebirth, redemption, and protection. This miniature thangka is designed for daily wear, personal devotion, or portable protection, blending sacred symbolism with refined craftsmanship.
The Story of Zaki Lhamo – Past & Present
From Suffering to Redemption
According to the most widely accepted tradition, Zaki Lhamo’s previous life was that of a noble woman from the Han Chinese court, whose life ended tragically due to palace intrigue. Her restless spirit was later encountered by a great Buddhist master and brought to Tibet for liberation.
Because women were traditionally not permitted inside monastic halls, she remained in the Zaki area, where Zaki Monastery was established. Through Buddhist teachings, her spirit transformed from suffering into awakening—symbolizing liberation from karmic bondage and the possibility of redemption across lifetimes.
This narrative reflects the Tibetan Buddhist understanding of rebirth, transformation, and compassionate inclusion.
